Trying to pick drape color

Kitchen is not fully done, but our walls are pale oak and cabinets benjamin moore revere pewter. Tiles in kitchen with wood floors in the family room. I am thinking about navy blue or dark green drapes. Am I making the right choice?

I don’t think drapes are right for that location. A better fit would be the more simple clean look of fabric blinds or roman shades. Also the drapes would be in the way of the cabinetry that is on the right side of the window. You don’t have space on that side.

Could we see the windows where the drapes will be hung? The bit of window shown in one of pics doesn’t look like a spot for drapes with the small bit of wall next to cabinet.

ETA: If drapes are for the adjoining family room you mention, color depends more on what color of furnishings you have. Color wise, either the blue or green goes with kitchen finish colors & assuming you add other pieces that have the drape color in them.. I mean any decor items on counters or rugs etc.

My walls are Revere Pewter and I chose Kravet Latika Limestone for fabric. Perfect combination and there are coordinating 4 or 5 coordinating fabrics.

@Sumathi Anickode Thanks for additional pics & congrats on new home! A couple of thoughts come to mind while looking at your windows. It doesn’t appear privacy is too much an issue and maybe not light either with the covered patio. I wouldn’t want anything covering the top ’transom’ windows especially considering the patio cover - you might find you want the light they let in. Drapes don’t seem right for slider or for dining area window. They might work on family room window but might need a one way draw so open drapes don’t cover slider. With the pool out there & nice patio, full & easy access to patio through slider is needed. I would opt for simplicity and clean look of solar blinds on all & inside mount on each window. And, if you can find that great fabric that seems to match your kitchen tile that @elcieg showed you, maybe have a valance made for all 3 windows, either inside mounted or, if you want outside, I’d check out having a long valance made to cover all 3 to look like a single piece & outside mount just below the transom windows. This would add some interest & detail to the shades in each window. The slider shades would of course need to be 2 separate shades on one header so that the door part of slider could have shade up to use the door. That’s the sum total of my ”couple of thoughts”!

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain in such detail. Greatly appreciate all your input.

This is indoor outdoor living. I wouldn't require heavy curtains. Possibly sheers.

Love your floor and cabinet/wall colors. Navy or green are too dark.
