Sash kits are just that . they often require modification.

maybe it has to do with the ”parting bead”? directions say pry off stop molding and pull off “parting bead” is this an entirely different piece? what the heck is a parting bead? thx

The "parting bead" are the narrow pieces (3) in the jamb and at the head that separate the top and bottom sash and ensure they operate independently. I know nothing of Tucker windows but the new bead should have been part of the sash kit. If not, you will have to remove the existing carefully and reuse it.

Okay thank you. so does the “stop” refer specifically to the jam pieces (sides) and the parting bead refer specically to the head version of the stop so to speak?
