Revisiting a tree border wall

I have 5 acres of land, but my house was built near the back Eastern corner of it. Meaning that the majority of my land is to the West of my house.

That was fine when I bought it, but since then my neighbor cleared off his land and built a house on the Western side of HIS property!! Which means that I only have about 40' of wild trees before it clears off and you can see that house.

My neighbors are great, but they're older so I know it's just a matter of time before I'm dealing with new neighbors. I'd like to do what I can to go ahead and start a visual barrier and sound barrier, but with minimal impact on the wildlife (deer, turkey, etc).

I'm considering a wall of thuja Green Giants because they're cheap, evergreen, and fast growing. I would be planting them in the middle of large mature trees, too, so they would get a lot of dappled sun.

I imagine that I would plant them in a Z formation so that animals can easily walk through, but it would still block sound and light when they're mature.

Are there other trees that I should consider that are similarly priced, evergreen, and fast growing?

Or, any other suggestions before I begin?
