I have a 1950's ranch home that I love, but the front yard needs some serious updating. There are some overgrown shrubs that I would like to have pulled out, but I was thinking of adding some long steps to create a front porch after pulling out the shrubs. I don't want a typical "front porch," but just some different levels from the existing small porch down to the ground, then have a path to walk & some landscaping on the other side of the path. I can't find any pics so I'm hoping that I'm not totally off base here with my idea. Any suggestions?
