unusual large black marks on monarch

Immediately noticeable, on both sides of upper wings. By comparison to photos in the Web, I saw that the unusual is not the size of the black marks, rather the lower number of white spots inside them.

Well, I know that no two monarchs the same. They may look similar, but each and every one is unique. God's diversity is amazingly beautiful! You were blessed to see such a rare and beautiful butterfly!!

I haven't had monarch caterpillars or eggs in like 3 months I'm wondering what's happening my plants look very healthy some of them have aphids but I get rid of them but the plants itself and I have butterflies flying around landing on them and eating and I don't know how to tell if they're laying eggs or not but I look every morning to see if I have caterpillars and nothing. Which wondering if you had any ideas
