Yeah, them roots find their way everywhere. Reminds me of how many I have to repot and/or dig up.

Roots are definitely persistent. It's a battle living with them. In the decades that I have lived in my house, I have come to realize that I didn't really mind the shade of the trees. I just hate the roots though. Makes being a gardener much more difficult.

I am totally okay with the shade all my trees provide but the roots….webbing everywhere, strangling anything in their path. HATE THEM

There had been a cactus growing on top of all this mess. The cacti had been pushed out and was growing as an 'air plant'. I understand.

I can feel your pain. Maple roots were chocking my hosta out and what a job for this old back. My husband is not a gardener but with his help we finally got them all out of the soil, Stripped the roots of the trees off and repotted last season. They all seemed to survive the move and leafed out last year to have everyone passing by , wanting to know if I was getting rid of them and take them. Where were they were we did all the back work? Hauled in crush where my beds were and hopefully they made the winter in the pots and it will not look like a sales lot like now. Might have a lot of moving around to get the nicest results. Guess if they die they die. Looks pretty bleak at the moment and a long way from when it was lush before the roots took over

I have Lillacs to tackle this year. I have not been on top of them and unfortunately they have spread. My Blue Angel, Paul's Glory and Ann Kulpa have been under attack. Not looking forward to that.
