Quartz Stain Test

I have samples of two different quartz options from both Emerstone and MSI, and a sample of White Ice granite. Today I did a quick test with ketchup, mustard, balsamic vinaigrette, and hot sauce. I put a little bit of each condiment on each piece. The hot sauce stained each piece of quartz after sitting on them for about two minutes, and a single drop stained two of them after only about 20 seconds. The mustard left a little bit of yellow on one piece of quartz after sitting on it for a little longer, probably about 10 minutes. None of the quartz was affected by the ketchup or salad dressing, and the granite was not stained by any of them, even the hot sauce.

Even after cleaning the quartz with just water, then with water and a little bit of Dawn dish soap, and then with a little Barkeeper’s Friend, light hot sauce stains are still present on each piece of quartz. I’m unimpressed given how “non-porous” they’re marketed as being. Is this normal? Would a higher end quartz from Caesarstone, Silestone, Cambria, or Viatera behave the same way?
