It had been painted a minty green color and the supports seem to indicate that this isn't a recently built seat. I've checked over 20 "chair" posts in this forum and haven't seen this style yet.

FFori, I was going to paint it to match one of my student's decor as a gift. One of the things that caught my eye was how easy I knew it would be to change out the fabric.😉

I wouldn’t paint it- it’s easy enough to re-cover the seat to match a decor, but once it’s painted you have to repaint to change the colour, and I know which I’d rather do.

TBH, I was leaning toward just giving the wood a light sanding, cleaning, then a coat of polyurethane. It IS pretty.

Maybe midcentury-ish? The build goes with that (although I don't know how long they made them like that) and the way it's kind of a slinky sexy minimalist version of a typical Queen Anne style sort of fits in there. (I'm making this up, by the way, but it feels plausible. 😁)

It'll be a lovely gift.

This is just a guess...1960 ish maple chair, stripped, Queen Anne style, looks like it was left out in the weather, notice replace screws in corner braces...not valuable. But, you could do great things with paint or stain and new fabric.
