Very pretty. Reminds me a bit of Climbing Pinkie.

It's a glorious rose where happy: I remember one I saw years ago at Villa Hanbury. Mine in the more exposed position is in bloom, too, along with its punier neighbor 'Safrano', and 'Etoile de Lyon' just getting going.

There was a recent photo on the forum of 'Général Schablikine' scrambling through shrubs, if I remember correctly. Could this be yet another Tea that will climb if it has support?

Thank you, Sylvia, for the glorious photo. Mine here climbs a phlomis fructiosa and is my first Tea to bloom. Too early here. We are having a late Spring.

Melissa, I have been trying to train GenS as a climber for a few years. Otherwise you couldnt sit at our patio table without having it in your hair! It really would rather spread … but I do have it upright now. The setup is inelegant in the extreme … but it is working.

Artist, I was thinking about getting Climbing Pinkie but realized i already have its lookalike in GenS.

Phlomis are phabulous. They will take over, however. There are a couple of more contained species aside from the major world-conquering woody kinds.
