Are they UL listed?

I find it scary buying lighting from Home Depot.

They are the seller. You but it from Allibaba, they ship it and you arrange pick or shipping after customs from the port. That is why they are cheaper, you take the risk, you are the importer.

Alibaba is an Amazon for mostly all Chinese-sourced products. You'll be hard pressed to find any lighting that is UL listed. Products will be ETL listed and better aligned for the Euro market (e.g. e27 bases), if you can count on the ETL logo being legitimate. There is a huge difference between UL/ETL (someone will quickly google and say "no there isn't," but said person needs to dig deeper). Though a hanging light fixture without a UL listing will probably be fine, a toaster might need more scrutiny. IKEA products are an ETL example, which follows along that . . .

There is also a huge difference between a product that is designed in, and has a corporate footprint in the U.S/Canada/Euro, but is manufactured in China, vs a product that is wholly birthed in China. And that goes for more than shipping and service, but affects quality control, materials e.g. amount of lead, etc. There is very little, if any, recourse or accountability for a product birthed in China. This is not sinophobia, because the manufacturing process, controls, and regulations are still the wild west when no entity can hold your feet to the fire. If you are worried about product quality, warranty, and service, experience on Amazon with Chinese-sourced products is a good bellwether (if you can subtract out the Amazon influence).
