If you have access to seevice on the Fulgor Milano brand in the area where you live, they have a 36” Induction rangetop. What I really like abiut this design is that it has knobs AND they are on the front, so are vertical which helps keep a lot of splatter off of them saving you cleaning time. I ’think’ it might be one of only induction rangetops out there so you get the nice, deep working space of a rangetop (drop-in cooktops are shallower), but with induction instead of gas. • At $2200, the Frigidaire is certainly the bargain of the bunch. I like how the controls are arrayed in the same order as the induction elements and there's a power indicator above each. It's earned a "recommended" rating from CR.
• I don't see how the Bluestar earns its $4400 price. The vertical arrangement of the knobs doesn't match that of that of the induction elements.
• Read the Gaggenau user manual before considering this $5000 cooktop to understand how its single, weird, removable knob controls all the induction elements. It is powerful, though.
• You'd have to cut your cabinet to install the Fulgor Milano rangetop. It also doesn't have a bridge.
