New construction 3d preview

I am in the beginning stages of building a home on 5 acres on my farm in a rural area. Is there a service out there that would make a 3d preview of the house on the land in the location I want?

This will be my forever home and will likely become the home base for my farming operation which will include the construction of machine sheds as well on the property.

I would like to be able to see the house and a few mock buildings in as much details as possible including the elevation, driveway, surrounding area etc…

This being my forever home I want to make sure it’s placed where it needs to be for future farm expansion on the property.

I haven’t had much luck finding any service that provides this as I realize it’s not exactly a common situation.

Thanks

David

5 acres is not very large for a compound like that. You are going to have to downsize a lot of your ideas. And upsize your budget. Significantly. Start with with an architect who thinks beyond the property lines. Expect to spend about 100K on lot improvements and design services, to start the project off. You cannot 3D anything without all the design work happening first.

If your "forever" is as important as you make it sound, the architect you hire to assist you in designing the house and site will most likely have capabilities to provide you with 3D renderings you desire.

Doing 3D isn't a drag and drop. Each element has to be first designed, and then built in code. Doing non sensical plop and drops of stock landscape items that do not even really fit is not going to help you.

If you want to start thinking conceptually about placement of buildings, garden, driveways, water features, etc. you can get aerial photos and start playing around with masses using tracing paper and pencil, or even SketchUp. You can do a lot with 5 acres.

Your 3D site plan can be as detailed as your building designs.

First plan out your site plan in two dimensions, with the third dimension in mind, then design each building with its function and relationship to the site. Then review how the buildings relate to the site with the other buildings. Then revise each building's design to maximize its relationship to the other buildings and the site. Then adjust each building's location and orientation taking into account the other buildings and site conditions. Then change the building designs. Then change the site plan. Then change the building design to accommodate the changes in the site plan. Then finalize the site plan. Then finalize the building designs.

    Simple.

Sabrina is right. The "service" you're seeking is called an architect. Not sure why this isn't as obvious to you as it is to the rest of us.

It's funny how mankind ever got anything built before "hire an architect".

    Before 7000 BC?

CAD systems were different back then I hear.

@Seabornman it's funny how we residential design is subject to building and fire codes in this day and age. Even if one hires a design/build firm and not an architect, they have to adhere to the laws of the local government if they want to get permits approved.

I was literally thinking the same thing. My generations-old family farm, which has been built bit-by-bit over 200+ years seems to work pretty well.
