You need some soft scape….rug, window covering, pillows. Even a macrame or tapestry wall hanging. Something to soften the edges.

Rug is must have. Cos your window is high I would get some sitting sofa/ chase/ love seat/settee/ bench below it. I like Maureen choice of soft chair.

Great start! I'll echo the rug idea. I'd also seriously consider adding a 2nd desk to put right next to the other one in the exact same style. If the kids are going to be sharing a room for awhile, they'll each need their own workspace.

Rugs, wallpaper, and window treatments might help the space look even better than it already does.
