Saturdays, showoffs

Not that there are many or that they are showing off too much, but Fighting Fire finally gave me a good bloom; after four not good ones.

As you can fully see, there are areas still very weedy and it seems to take so long, but Colorado Moonstone bloomed pretty nicely:

Black Fathom Depths put out another pretty one:

Pink Gingham had trouble opening in the cool morning:

And one of the iris showed up:

This year, I have added hanging baskets to the puppy garden

And Josephing had bloomed her heart out and is dropping petals:

and my kale is about ready to be eaten:

Fighting Fire is lovely! I hope it finally has figured out how to make pretty blooms. I do love Black Fathom Depths, but it doesn't love our climate. The hanging baskets are really pretty and I love the rich color of the iris. We have some iris getting ready to bloom too.

What a pretty bloom on Fighting Fire! I do love that one. I have two clumps of it, and one of the clumps lost several fans over the winter. Both of the hanging baskets are vibrant and beautiful!

I’m happy to see you finally hot some nice blooms! I hope it stays warm so the blooms open better. Love the clematis, I grow it too.

We are having cooler than normal temperatures again this week and getting some rainafter a dry week here.

Fighting Fire and your iris are my favorites of these.

I just saw that my Belle Isle Sentry has scapes just beginning to pop up. This is perhaps a week early.

Fighting Fire is a pretty one. I've found that early bloomers here need a good bud count as the spring weather, with all it's variances, can mean the loss of blooms looking their best early in the season.........Pink Gingham looks promising when it finally opens up properly.......Your Iris is so pretty as well as the Clematis....I think your Kale plant looks ornamental as well. I can't stand Kale to eat but love spinach. Spinach however never looked as good as your green Kale plant does..............Maryl

Fighting Fire is so pretty, and a beautiful iris too. My Clematis is blooming too, one is Nellie Moser, 2 other are similar looking, but I don't know their names. I like the fluffy center on Josephine better than mine even though they are similar color.

I vote with the others! Fighting Fire has a beautiful bloom. Love the iris color and the clematis are looking good too. Those hanging baskets offer some good color to your garden.
