Made new chair cushions

For the last couple years I had my 20 year old barn cat, who was in poor health, living on my porch. She is gone now so I got a small table from Ikea and made new cushions for the chairs I had. Kept me busy during these past few days of cold and rainy weather. Maybe I will spend time out there when it is nice weather.

They are beautiful!! And I like how you took the time to match the striping on the two chairs. It looks like a comfy place to sit and talk.

I also think they are very pretty.

    Did you use Sunbrella fabric?

    The table looks nice also.

I did use Sunbrella. I got it at a discount upholstery fabric store ($10 a yard). It was rather stiff and unyielding but the cushions are a very simple design. Looking online I discovered that what I had was more of an awning fabric, so they should last a while

The chairs look amazing! I am very impressed and hope warm weather comes quickly for you, so you can sit out there and enjoy the days. I am sorry to hear that you lost your cat, but 20 years is a good run, isn't it. Hard on us though. I think a kitten would be a perfect complement to the new cushions.

Nice! A couple years ago one of my exchange students and I redid my kitchen chairs. The set is old and worn, dog chew marks on the legs of the table and the top of the table is scratched up. I thought I would eventually buy a new set but I like the newly redone cushions so much that I don't want to replace them now. lol.

I bought Sunbrella awning fabric by accident once, and it was extremely difficult to work with. It was like sewing cardboard, and this made putting the zippers in especially difficult.

I'm sure those cushions will last a long time!

Very nice! and I know because just I sewed EIGHT chair seat cushions with indoor/outdoor fabric plus zippers for DD1 deck dining table. You co ordinated the stripes and put on an attractive front gusset.

    Inspiring!

If not a dumb question, what do you use for the cushion inside the fabric?

I have a project in mind for inside bench seats but hesitating, looking for mojo

Looks great! Can I ask how you made them? I was thinking about doing it but I just got some regular cushions at Walmart today. I have the box type like you do.

Here are my new cushions. Then I boxed in the old bottom cushion for the thinner new ones to sit on. Not too bad, I got what I wanted anyway. : ^D
