My season, so far

The first photo is Middendirffii, it was taken on April 25th. The first bloom appeared four days earlier, on April 21st. That is, by several days, the earliest FFO I have ever had. The 2nd and 3rd photos are of one of two peonies that were transported from my late mother-in-law's garden in Pennsylvania after she passed away. It started as one clump and has been divided twice into a total of six clumps. I took this photo on May 6th but the first bloom opened several days earlier. The last photos is "Bowl of Love". I won't trouble you with how I came to appreciate peonies (as well as daylilies) but this plant is so beautiful I just had to share it.

Great start and I love your peonies they are wonderful! They don't do well here due to the heat but I love to see them.

I love peonies. Hopefully after this year I too can show some pics. I had 5 varieties in NYS and just started this spring with adding some tubers in our new garden here in WV.. Nice start to your daylily season.

Beautiful peonies, I like the daylily too! I have Dumortieri, but mine bloomed late this year. It is normally the 3rd week of April, but did not bloom til May this year. It did get overwhelmed by a big clump of daffs though. The 1st peony looks like one I got from my Dad's house and originally came from my stepgrandmother's home, so an oldie. Very vigorous!
