Sharon, it repeats very well here, and usually has no disease at all. (And I do NOT spray.) SO well, that my DH wants more of it. MORE! MORE!

BUT this is Coastal Southern California (and Santa Barbara, just up the road, is where it was found).

So . . . What it would do in TX? I dunno, but I'd like to find out.

Thank you so much for the information! Two more questions, if I may. Is it fragrant? Does it have killer thorns? If it's fragrant with reasonable thorniness, I will get it. I am looking for a good fragrant rich red and this, from your description and photos, would be perfect.

Someone else will have to answer the fragrance question. HMF says: " Strong, damask, spice fragrance . . . " and also says "Armed with thorns/prickles." It's pretty thorny, but I've seen worse.
