For future readers, I bought that peat moss and a bag of organic sand, then let the peat moss soak in water for a few hours.

Based on what I'd read online, I mixed it 3 parts peat moss, 1 part organic sand, 1 part perlite.

It took WAY more sand that I thought! I bought 2 of these, but really needed 5 or 6:

I compensated with more perlite, I hope that works out OK :-O

Just buy fertilizer free peat moss and perlite, mix it 50/50 and you're done.
