Wow! There is nothing better than huge roses in a large space with an informal setting. Just remarkable! How much property do you have, and have you covered all of it with roses? I have over an acre but only 1/4 of it or so is populated with roses. I need to spread out! Thank you for sharing your incredible garden.

I have 5 acres and it is just so much fun letting the roses be themselves.

I really think Jesse probably is WRCT, catspa. Every photo and comparison looked alike to me. Ingrid reported small brown blossoms in extreme heat on her WRCT I think and my Jesse did the same thing. This is a very short phase of Jesse's rose year. He is a spectacularly healthy rose here usually and constantly in bloom.

I bought a little, bitty 'Hermosa' at the Celebration of Old Roses a couple of weeks ago (and a 'Blush Noisette'). I hope my 'Hermosa' ends up looking like yours, Sheila.

It's the combination of absolutely everything together, the big sky, the background of the beautiful dark conifers, that truly spectacular garden bed on the northern size, and the absolute abundance of very special rose varieties (hello, La France) allowed to grow to their full size and glory, that makes your garden, dear Sheila, an absolute delight. Seeing roses that I used to grow such as Le Vesuve, Baronne Henriette de Snoy, Triomphe de Luxembourg, Rosette Delizy, Bishop's Castle, SdlM and others has made me so happy. Star of the Republic and Annie Laurie McDowell are very special. But really, there are no slackers here!

So, so, so beautiful, Sheila! Thank you for your Wm Lobb photo. I am trying to find a spot for mine (once he matures), and your photo reminds me why I so desperately wanted to grow him again. Like Rosecanadian Carol, I also gush at your Russeliana! Given my limited space, I had to make some hard choices. I kept William and gave Russell to a friend who was starting a rose garden from scratch. Tututara - back in the old days when HOUZZ was Gardenweb, it seemed like most everyone knowledgeable on the Antique Rose Forum had RDlizy except me, I was the new comer just learning about the best old roses , and it's one .

Sheila, does Clbg.White Mme. Cochet have a tendency towards balling? I used to want that, and the regular Clbg Madame, but someone said that they were very prone to balling, so I let it go, but seeing yours makes me wonder...

OMG. Just an extraordinary journey of spectacular beauty, and so much work...I"m sure. My own efforts to deal with 17 roses at this house that were already here is so weak on reflection. I'm laughing at myself, and awed by your expertise.

My cl White Madame Cochet is more notable here from taking it's time to get going. I did not really notice balling.

OTOH, I have a "Davis Store Rose" from rosepetals that balls and I bet it will grow out of it in time. It is so dry here I don't have much balling. That rose might be Mme E Souffrain rose petals says.

Bart, I have Madame Cochet and she is very vigorous and gorgeous. I would give her a try.
