Nice! Yours is a profuse bloomer. I have a small one that is about to bloom for the first time. exciting

I can only speak for zone 5 -- my mother had a very tall John Davis (about 12' tall) that she trained up and against the house. The support stayed up all year, and the very stiff canes of JD did too. Her first trellis was wood, and JD and time brought it down. The next trellis was made of rebar, and it stands to this day. I do NOT know about zone 3 though -- your winters will be much different!

@L Clark (zone 4 WY) That is exciting! Last year it actually had a good number of blooms but nothing like this year.

@rosesmi5a Yes, our winters are very harsh here and long. I should maybe check with the nursery I bought it from.

You could also check to see if anyone in your local rose society grows it -- chances are if it is hardy, they do. It is a lovely rose.
