June is busting out all over

The early spring weather didn't seem to affect my daylilies as it did some, however we have hail in the forecast for the next 3 days, so I'm not out of the woods yet......

Here are my two green entries together:

Front is Sour Puss, back is the unregistered seedling Rudy's Sister:

My go to standard for hot deep orange. Burning Inheritance. Sunfast/colorfast in 100 plus temperatures:

A new miniature daylily (to me). It's the dickens to try and get the proper color of it on my camera, but it's very dark.

Lil Black Buds:

This is always a show stopper when it blooms. The color is just so vibrant and accepts our heat very well indeed:

Wayah Valley

This one I find does best given some late afternoon shade in our 95+ degree heat. Probably not a problem for those in more moderate climates. I really like this one and I'm not typically into eyes.

Kiss You In The Morning:

This is gearing up to have another tremendous show this year. Lots of buds and instant rebloom scapes:

Orange Smoothie:

I didn't get any new yellows to trial this year as I've been seeing how my other newish ones do:

Pass The Butter:

Finally a nod to Debra for her superb taste in pinks. This one is due to her enabling. It is a magnificent color for a deeper pink. Some of the deeper (what is sometimes called Rose pink) is not so much to my liking. This, so far, has shown a true pink shade. We'll see how it goes, but so far so good:

I love the photo of Kiss You In the Morning backed by those pinwheel flowers. They loo so pretty together. Sour Puss looks pretty happy there with Rudy's Sister. I'm glad you tried The Color of Wonderful. Here it's more of a rose pink.

How is Kiss You doing? Here, it's growth last year was anemic. All look good in your garden. Here, Burning Inheritance was not a vigorous grower; it's still out there somewhere. Hensley's plants are not always vigorous here, but others worth searching for. Many are hard to find, not being propagated by growers.

I always like Sour Puss (of course!) and Wayah Valley. The Color of Wonderful is so pretty. Are those petunias in the background of some of your photos? Those are really pretty! Your OrangeSmoothie is so abundant! I need to move mine-it is still only two fans.

Mantis: Burning Inheritance is a steady but only a moderate grower here at best. It is after all a sev, not a dormant. Kiss You In The Morning has lived up to the 3 year old adage about plants: 1st year sleep, 2nd year creep, 3rd year leap. After a slow start it is finally taking off this year. You are so right about Hensley's plants being hard to find after he separated from Mr. Selman at Blue Ridge. His reds/oranges and even his purples are ones I'm most interested in trialing................Kate: That flower in the background is a NOID Verbena. I need to research what the name might be as it's done quite well since early spring. Verbenas usually die out when our sustained heat shows up in July/August, so we will see how long this one lasts.........Debra: The Color of Wonderful's first blooms were a deeper rose pink, but have lightened up to this shade lately. This medium pink color is more to my liking then the deeper rose pink. The neat part is that it really looks pink, not washed out red, or raw meat red at any stage it's been in so far. I watched your post of it for a few years and it seemed pretty consistent on being sunfast/colorfast for you. We will see how it does over the long haul in the inferno, but thanks regardless of how it turns out for showing it..............Maryl

Very nice grouping Maryl. We could all use the rain but not the hail. Are these all in pots or in the ground?
