Our dual fuel range took a couple visits from a technician after it was installed to get the burners dialed in. They didn't burn as blue as they should have and did the clicking thing that gas sometimes does. It was annoying but I had almost forgotten about it until I read your post. My sister in law has the propane version and she had more issues than I did with natural gas. I don't think getting all your appliances from the same manufacturer is necessarily a smart thing to do. We had a very specific need/want and the GE range filled that need. I'd never pay that kind of money for the fridge, micro, dishwasher, etc., because I think others do those things better for less money, but to some people form is more important than function.

Totally agree. None of the appliances I have now match. One work either and since I’m doing a kitchen redo, I thought I’d be nice if they kind of went together. I haven’t cared until now since I spending lots of money. I’m beyond frustrated with the idea that things aren’t made to last.

You need to specify the acceptable depth of the refrigerator, not just that it's 33" wide.

Appliances can last for many years, decades even. Appliance reliability data are available. You should not assume that appliances from a brand's entire product line are equally reliable.

I’d like to buy appliances that will last for decades. Then I’d never have to buy again, unless I make it to 100.😂
I’m open for suggestions, and I’ve learned not to assume too much. I’ve researched - that’s why I’m here. I’ve learned which brand many say to avoid and it’s not one I have considered.
Counter depth was suggested by my cabinet maker. I’m limited by space. 38” max and next to a wall on the right that extends. So I want to be able to open my door without banging the wall. If I hinge on the left I’ll have to go around the door and it’ll be a PITA. Most likely French door will work best. There aren’t many 33” ones available that I’ve been able to see. The GE that I’ve seen is very small inside and pricey. My non working is a 30” LG which is over 10 years old -which is surprising. However it just never seemed to keep milk cold and I didn’t store it on the door.
I’m just frustrated. My kitchen is barely limping along with the help of a basement fridge and range, for which I’m so thankful. Broken dishwasher too. I don’t mind washing dishes but I’m tired of running up and down to the basement fridge and range. I need to chose appliances so I can get this kitchen going. I’m 73 and I’ve never had so many appliance issues.

You have to be specific in your requirements.

• Electric range: induction or radiant? Freestanding or slide-in? Do you have a 50-amp 240 volt circuit required for an electric range or dual-fuel range?
• Microwave: over-the-range or countertop?

Have you checked Consumer Reports ($10/month digital) which has ratings and recommendations for most types of appliances?

Fisher Paykel makes a counter-depth 32" wide fridge. My parents have had one for years and love it.

Note that Yale's reliability information is (a) only for the first year after appliance installation; (b) covers only appliances sold and serviced by Yale; and (c) Yale does not sell any appliances from several of the largest appliance manufacturers in the world, Whirlpool (including KitchenAid, Maytag, Amana, and Jenn-Air) and Electrolux (including Frigidaire), and Samsung (including Dacor).

Normally I wouldn’t buy all the same brand appliances, but we were able to get really good pricing for GE Cafe. So that plus the rebate was a good incentive to buy all six of our appliances. We are not gourmet chefs and prepare basic means so we didn’t need anything crazy. We have the dual fuel range and haven’t had any issues in the two weeks we’ve used it. We also have the wall oven, convection microwave, double drawer dishwasher, counter depth refrigerator and hood. Knock on wood everything is working as it should. The double drawer dishwasher has been a learning curve but it works just fine. We haven’t used the oven on the range yet. I told hubby we need to use that next to make sure no issues. We have all GE Profile at our lake house and haven’t had any issues in three years. So we felt comfortable going all GE at our home.

I’ll have total 38” for fridge that sits against wall on the right. That’s causing me a headache.
Dishwasher doesn’t concern me. I’ll figure that out. My Maytag cleaned better than any previous ones. I’ve never had top of the line- whatever that is

Debbie, I have some physical challenges and have been adamant to always have my microwve on the counter. Just too frightening thinnking about maneuvering anything out of an OTR microwave.

I have a 30” GE Cafe Induction range that was installed 3 months a go. So far, no problems and I really like it. I previously had a GE Profile electric range and had no problems over the 19 years I had it; it still worked fine when I replaced it.

Obviously, I haven’t had this one long enough to fairly evaluate longevity.

Sally T- it was a blogger that had a 36” gas range and had lots of problems with the igniter. The blog is called Room for Tuesday. January 22 was the date. There were lots of responses or I would’ve not paid so much attention. I’m wondering if Cafe has fixed that problem now? I was sorry about customer service she received.
I may still get Cafe since I’m getting electric and not gas. But her story and all the readers that responded about their problems with Cafe made me question if Cafe is worth the money. I’m not trying to diss on GE- they’re here in my town and I have hopes they’ll give good service if I chose them

Boba1-thanks and boy do I hear ya! Up until I tripped and broke my left hand and shoulder (I’m left handed) - I exercised daily, wightsZumba etc. Now I can barely reach up. So I’m rethinking the micro and where to put it. Even before my accident I wasn’t keen on over the range, which I have now but it’s broken. Every time I think I’ve got it figured out I hit a snag. Thought I had fridge decision made until we saw how small the inside it, especially the freezer.

I have the Cafe induction (no gas) and love it. It is my understanding that Profile and Cafe have the same innards, just different exterior styling.

I also needed a 33 or 32 in fridge -- there are really not many options in this size! Ended up with a Fisher Paykel and really happy with it.

I have a cafe all gas range and have never had any issues with it
