A few may bloom, but I think you're going to have to repot them in larger pots to get most of them to flower. They need more room to grow roots, so the fans will have enough leaves to bloom. Generally you need 10 leaves on a fan before you get a blooming scape.

I suppose I could field plant these and that would better utilize space and money. What kind of spacing would you recommend for field planting.

In the ground, plant them 6 to 8 inches apart.

@Jay 6a Chicago These are random crosses from my garden. I know the seed parent, but not the pollinator. I have around 8 or 9 different seed collections from 2 years ago and 5 or 6 from last year. The ones in the photo I believe are from Mauna Loa. This year I plan to do some purposeful crosses where I document both parents.

We plant in rows that are a foot apart with about 5 inches between the seedlings. I agree with Shive, if you want your plants to bloom quickly, they need more root room than they have. In our garden, we start our seeds about late January--March, plant them in the ground in June or July and have most of them bloom the following season.
