I’m not sure how any Agastache can be ugly. 🫤 Right? I bought some seed this year and am trying it for the first time, too. judging by the beautiful foliage, at least, it it’s going to be a keeper.

I’ve added some to a new raised planter that we have built into our patio extension. I am hoping that these plants will attract butterflies, moths, hummers, and bees to our new space.

This info from the breeder indicates it's part of a series of seed-grown Agastache hybrids that are known to bloom in the first year (from seed) and take on a compact/domed shape that's well suited to container culture:

To my eye, from the breeder's photo, the flowers appear to be a slightly deeper/more saturated blue than 'Blue Fortune', but it's overall a much shorter and compact plant.

I can. The color of "Blue Fortune" is an example. But color, beauty, all that is subjective...

Hmmm....I bought it to replace a clump of swamp milkweed, which always got about hip height in that spot. I wonder if the Astello Indigo will be a bit too short. I already planted it so I'll just leave it there and see what it does. I wish I could find another "Black Adder", but it seems to have disappeared from the benches around here, replaced by "Little Adder". I wish this obsession with dwarfing everything would end already...sigh...

Most agastache normally do very well for me, but this one is a finer less robust grower that ended up a failure in my garden, all plants I had sown got some type of leaf disease and became stunted out, possibly I should try it again though.

Mxk i agree ! Yes this shrinkage trend is so uglifying. plants lose their proportions. Is this world Munchkin land now?

Blue Fortune Isnt really ugly, just tired and faded.

But Stella is ugly, harsh and soiooo overused
