The two seedlings look good in clump form! I like that pink blush on the Zuzu’s Treasure seedling. Wonderful clump on El Desperado-did not see a bloom on mine (red bug). Beautiful photo of Memphis. Canary Flush is right up my alley with that yellow color. Fighting Fire is so red! Heat index of 115 expected tomorrow!

I’m drooling over the Biltmore Style X ! That El Desperado clump is marvelous, best I can remember seeing. Memphis looks lovely today, so delicate looking.

Both of you seedlings are lovely, but the Biltmore Style seedling is my favorite. I also like Ocean Spirit and Memphis. Empire of Dawn and Dusk has been a very important hybridizing flower for us.

And what is your evaluation of Canay Flush? Isn't Lawler in Canada?Ocean Spirit here has been devastated by thrips, despite repeated spraying.

Maryl - Dearest Valentine throws a lot of near white and cream seedlings. Zuzu's Treasure has Great White as a parent. Biltmore Style bit the dust a couple of years ago. I had always grown it in a pot and never liked it well enough to put it in the ground.

Mantis - Hilliard Lawler lives in Mississippi. Canary Flush, an evergreen, probably should only be grown in the South. I can't give much of a review since I've only had it since last summer. I do like the blooms and I've crossed it with some other yellows I like.

Nan - I got Empire of Dusk and Dawn because of your recommendation. I always wanted to cross it with Dearest Mahogany but never got a pod from that cross.

Sherry and everyone else who mentioned the Biltmore Style seedling - It is a pretty bitone, but it doesn't have a lot of buds. I may move it to another place this fall where it will get more sun.

Debra, did Dr. Lawler move? At one time he was in Indianola, MS. I keep saying I am going to go visit his garden but will rethink that if he is now in Louisiana!

I really like your seedling Zuzu's Treasure X Dearest Valentine #2, a great pastel. Memphis is very pretty too. I guess I'm in a mellow mood today.

Kate - Lawler is in Miss. He's a Facebook friend, and he's posted so many trips in Louisiana this year that I started thinking he lived there. LOL I get contiguous states confused. I can never remember if Celeste lives in NH or Vermont. Sometimes I think Kay lives in Georgia rather than Alabama. At least I remember the region.

Brad - Zuzu's Treasure X Dearest Valentine is a tall one (34 inches), despite coming from two short parents. Three years ago it had 20-24 buds per scape, but it hasn't matched that since. It does make a pretty clump.
