I am so sorry Nancy! What horrible weather we are having. At least daylilies are strong and come back if the crown is there. a lost year is what it sounds like and we don't need to lose any of those.

Kay, Bob and I were toying with the idea of not doing much hybrization this year—too many selects and seedlings to evaluate, but this event seals the deal. Now we are in rescue mode—rescuing the named varieties and one big bed of selects. the seedlings on the northwest side of the windbreak are fine.

How hearbreaking on the business and property level but how blessed on the personal side that you are safe. In devastation like this it is sometimes hard to appreciate the silver linings. Prayers that recovery of your grounds will be quick and that your revised version of your hybridizing plans is fruitful. So sorry you have this to deal with this summer.

Nan, I'm so sorry to read about the storm devastation on your property. It sounds like a mess. At least your home and your garage were spared, and you and Bob didn't get hurt. I've had trees split in storms and land on my daylily beds, and the daylilies made it through just fine. I bet your select seedlings will too. I hope your power comes back sooner than they told you. Nancy, soooo sorry to hear this but glad you and Bob and the main structures are fine. That storm was supposed to get us too……dissipated as it approached here. Hope the rest of the season is uneventful and the clean up goes smoothly
