Kitchen flooring chipping! What to replace with?

I'm helping a relative with a flooring change for her kitchen. The current 11 year old LVT flooring is chipping. We heard the company is out of business as well. She thought about continuing with the hardwood flooring in the adjacent dining and living rooms, but found out that it has been discontinued. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you
