I wouldn't try to do any kind of decorative lighting there. Great application for a recessed can.

I have a slim profile linear suspension LED fixture hanging in front of my window that looks like almost nothing (the fixture is 1 inch wide x 1 inch wide and 8 feet long to span a whole wall of windows; the profile is so slim it almost completely disappears). I think you can get a similar profile in short lengths to fit between your wall cabinets. Another option that might work for you.

Is there a shade covering it? Open Led lights bother my eyes.

Are you talking about the old style recessed light where you screwed a light bulb into it?

Most of the newer LED recessed light have a shade. Pick a better quality LED recessed light with a deeper recessed light source and not one that is even with the ceiling. The recessed light source gives less glare.

Was this posted elsewhere a couple of days ago? i recall a very similar situation where several commented that having multiple pendants here draws attention to your off-center sink.

Lots of sympathy as I have light sensitivity issues as well. I've had good luck with recessed lights though. The key is deep housing that allow the bulb to sit higher than the ceiling, and specular trims. If that doesn't work for you, what about doing sconces instead, that could have shades and intrude less on your views?

You have several posts going. I don't love the location of the fridge OR the off centered sink. A pair of recessed four inch lights over a sink are plenty and should not cause any eye issues.

Show the feet and inches flat in paper plan for the kitchen. Not the elevation. The walls, window, cabinet plan. The fridge in your pic is wrong side hinge as well.

Yes Jan we are aware of all the issues with the kitchen. We were unable to fix any of them. If we switch the hinge on the door we cannot get the trays/shelves out for cleaning. I have a few posts as the questions are different. The sink is off centered as was discussed in another post it cannot be changed as we do not have surrounding real estate to expand the kitchen, nor the money to relocate all the plumbing. This post was about lighting so thank you for that answer.

There are a lot of options, styles, colors.

Here are some options:

1. The recessed can light that was mentioned above. You can try bulbs with different lumens and kelvin levels that work for you.
2. since you have a cabinet next to the sink you can use undercabinet lights. You can either have them wired in or use battery operated. I have wired undercab lights in my kitchen and I love them. Not only functional but make my kitchen more elegant.
3. option three is to choose a really narrow modern looking wall sconce to the left of the window. You would have to lose the curtains which I imagine you would anyway with a modern update kitchen. Would also provide some counterweight to the offset sink on the other side.
