its is stressed.. and the leaves are scorched..

fert is NEVER a response to stress ..

refer to the link above.. just water it properly thru late fall.. deep infrequent waterings.. letting it near dry before the next deep watering.. take a hand trowel.. and check 3 to 6 inched down.. as to when to water.. we really dont care when the surface is dry.. its all about water at root depth... proper watering is usually done on a trickle...

do not slather any remedies trying to save a leaves you burned... just more stress...

tree time is counted in decades... that is slooo motion.. so dont try to fix this in days or weeks.. just be patient.. and water properly ...

ps: you can buy a tree or shrub any time you want.. just hold it in the pot.. until the best proper planting time... its bargain time here as late summer comes.. but we dont plant ANYTHING... until fall.. you can tell the real hardcore gardeners.. they are the ones with 100 pots to plant in fall.. and 75 left to plant the following spring...lol ...

Your right the nursery had a lot on sale and we got sucked in LOL. We have hardpan soil and found someone to plant them for cheap too so we jumped on it. Now we know, we can buy but not plant yet, its scorching hot about 110F today

ok so for sure its not disease, phew … we were getting stressed out because we were thinking black leaf spot. I relayed to my spouse regarding the deep irregular waterings and checking the ground prior to watering. thank you!

Update- tree is infected with leaf spot!
