Remove everything under, next to and on top of the table except for the 2 plants. Take another photo and post it here.

What is the table’s purpose? Is this an entry way table where you need a mirror, basket/bowl to hold keys, etc.? Or is it used more as a dining area server?

While the mirror reflects light from the window across the way, it is also reflecting maybe a refrigerator or board covered with items. Have you tried a large piece of art in place of the mirror?

edit - Try out a couple tall eocen baskets with lids under the entry table if you need the storagehe. You may be able to find baskets with a white stripe.

It is a desk and is oversized for the space. Is that a dining chair so close to it?

Some ideas to make it work as an entry piece:

Is that another table on the other side of this desk? I guess you get the idea, way too much stuff in this space. Edit (or clean everything off everywhere and post photos and we can do some mock ups for you. I think we can work with the mirror but might be better hung vertically. Take it down for photos so we can figure out new look with you. Get a photo(s) as straight on as you can as far back as you can. Makes mock-ups easier. Great opportunity to really improve the look! bbl

I’d remove everything including the mirror, as it’s too heavy, as a blank slate to build upon.

Use a white mirror or art to pull in/complement your accessories.

Selective additions of wood, grey, brass

Get a real spray of orchids change them when they die and throw those fake plants out. I agree get rid of all the stuff and then take a picture. Not every flat surface needs or should have a ton of decor simple is IMO always best. A nice lamp the orchid and a place to put keys if this is your entry if not a place to sit to remove or put on shoes for guests . Instead of the mirror ,which is just reflecting nothing worth seeing twice ,get a nice piece of art .Post pics here in a comments DO NOT start another post

I would do just a piece of art and a sizable neutral ceramic vase with foliage on one side of the table. I would leave the rest of the tabletop blank for putting things on temporarily when you have your hands full.

Don’t hate me, but I like certain fake flowers. Some of the latex/poly flowers look real. If you have a flower garden to cut from, even better. Or you could cut small green branches from your yard. Amazon has some water tubes for individual stems if your vase isn’t very waterproof.

The fake flowers are an individual preference. The colors make me happy. I have found good quality latex tulips, hydrangeas, orchids, calla lilies and I think birds of paradise. Maybe amarylis. The leaves tend to look more fake than the petals, so flowers without delicate leaves tend to look more real. On Amazon, you can search on ”real touch” - but make sure the petals are not silk or fabric, which frays sometimes. Also Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel may have good fakes. I avoid cloth/silk flowers now because they can fray and the latex are better. They do yellow in the sun over time. I plan to mix the fake flowers with real greenery in water tubes. You can also find dried flowers and grasses.

If you have room for storage, you could collect a variety of vases, decor items and fake flowers to change up the design seasonally. It can be really fun if it’s something you enjoy. If you live near a bigger city, some thrift stores have nice selections of vases - mostly glass, but I found a few nice ceramic vases by frequenting a thrift store near my old house. Discount ceramic vases are not bad - you just have to take a close look. Or you can fall in love with a medium to large neutral vase and just swap out the flowers and live greenery.

Remove everything including the bags and cardboard on the floor. Buy a live colorful orchid for $20. Center the blue ottoman under the desk.

Don't "out furnish" the space!! LIVE IN YOUR FOOTPRINT.

Get alllll that clutter out of there.

I agree, take off everything and then go from there. If you need/like the mirror there, leave it. Add back items and see how it feels to you. Cute area though :-)

We think removing everything other than the console table itself and the mirror, might help you figure out what to add back and to make it look less cluttered. Here are some ideas on how you might decorate it once everything else is removed.
