I need to see the space , the table and the light . I rarely like round lights over rectangular tables unless there are 2 . I like linear lighting much better .

How high is the ceiling?

Room size?

Height of that drum light?

From the basic information you gave, I would say that even the 22" will probably be too small.

I agree with Patricia - lighting shape should match table shape.

Rule of thumb - lighting should be at least 1/3 the length of rectangular or oval table (84/3=28") - can be wider, but not narrower.

Rule of thumb 2 - add the length of the room + the width of the room (10x14=24) - light should be at least 24" wide.
