Countertop installation advice / feedback wanted

Hi -

It's time to do the granite counters for our build. There are 3 areas where I am looking for advice / thoughts.

  • Sinks - we have 3 undermounted sinks close to one another (each in it's own 24" cabinet) and located in the middle of a large bookmatched island. No reveal or positive reveal? I currently have no reveal and don't have a gunk issue. Kinda like the straight down look of no reveal - and also not sure I want to reduce the size of the stone between the sinks to accommodate the positive reveal. Will I be sorry?
  • Island pop ups - I have 4 of them. They can be mounted either on top of or flush with the counters (virtually disappearing). I have purchased 2 spares. 2 of them are likely located in a place that if they fail - they will just sit there and be useless.... but I could replace the other 2. Thoughts?
  • Induction cooktop. Can be mounted either surface mount or flush. Hubby wants flush - I am fine either way. We don't have a spare cooktop. ;-) And the stone we selected won't be able to be "matched" if we had to replace it if the cooktop failed and the replacement was not an exact fit or larger... Flush mount would look appropriate / cool for the modern style house.

My fabricator is good - very good - and confidence they can do this to an exacting standard. They did really great work installing our bathroom vanity tops and soaking tub surround already. So I FEEL like they are capable - but there's no replacing these slabs if something gets messed up. they are all sequential and not the normal pattern for the type of granite.
