I am looking to re-decorate my living room (flooring, furniture, paint). My dilemma is knowing which flooring to use. We have a vinyl wood look in the foyer which butts up to the living room, but which is separated by French doors (which we likely will paint black). The floor in the foyer was carpet and was replaced 8 years ago by the vinyl. Unfortunately, that floor has been discontinued for quite some time, so using the same one is not an option. We have a plush off-white carpet in the living room at the moment and ideally, I would like a hard floor in there (partly because we have animals). Should I re-think that idea and use carpet anyway (but with a more natural, sisal look carpet)? If adjoining wood looks are OK, in which direction should I go? The hallway floor is grey/brown (overall more brown), with a yellow undertone. I've attached some pictures (some with lights on, some without). The living room itself is west facing and actually has a lot of natural lighting. I would appreciate your advice!
