If the hardwood is being installed over the concrete and if the cabinets are installed first, you'll want them shimmed to the finished floor height. You may have appliance height issues if not.

What type of hardwood? Engineered hardwood is really what you need to use on a concrete slab. Cabinets should never be set directly on concrete.

Concrete requires engineered gluedown. The cabinets are either set on top of it after the floors are done, or the floor are butted to the shimmed up cabinets, whose bottom height is at the finished floor height.

Adjustible legs are the way to go for this. You can dial in any hright, and keep the project moving forward.

Ours were shimmed over the concrete and our engineered floors were installed & glued down later in the process. The one advantage is that you can wait longer for the wood floor install and not expose them to potential damage from other trades, specially from any messy tile work that might still be going on in the house. My builder waited as long as he could before having the engineered wood floors installed and then covered them where necessary to limit any damage.

putting flooring down after you install cabinets and appliances can lead to problems when you replace built in appliances. I had to pay $600 for an installer to install my new dishwasher because the old dishwasher had to be cut out of my house. He nicked some of my cabinets too when he was cutting the old dishwasher out.

It's only an issue with dimwads trapping appliances if the cabinets are not set at the finished floor height, and the floors go into the appliance alcoves.

If you ever remodel and want to keep the existing floor, you will be limited by where the flooring is installed. That is, say you want to move one of your cabinets to another spot in the kitchen. You won't be able to do this because the area underneath the cabinet to be moved will not have flooring there. In its new spot in the kitchen, the cabinet will be sitting up higher than the other cabinets. Been there, done that.
