where are you.. big city name... whats the weather been like since early spring.. any drought.. excess water.. etc...

when were they sheared last...

have you ever had a soil test...

do you see any bugs or anything on the backside of the yellow leaves...

We are on the coast south of Boston. We have drip irrigation; I monitor rainfall closely. I don’t think they are under or over watered. A soil test was my next step, no bugs. The leaves look very healthy, they are just a different color.

you county extension office can give you a fast answer on whether there are soil issues in your county ...

shrubs.. like trees are tricky to water on drip.. both should get deep drinks.. and then not watered again until near dry... which could be weeks in spring and fall ... and at least once a week in the heat of summer...

daily light waterings.. similar to lawn watering .... if you are on a timer might be an issue.. why now.. who knows... unless all of a sudden .. there is something out of whack with the soil ...

what is your watering schedule ...

who did the rather recent shearing... any history there that we dont know about???

and can we rule out a rather tall large male dog??? .. straight down.. i cant really really tell how tall the plants are..

Thanks for the advice. I’m going to start with a soil sample. My husband just did the shearing (it was yellow before that!). I haven’t really needed the drip too often this summer, maybe we have had too much rain.
