If the cabinets are being painted in place, I would paint first and then replace the floor. But that is because I would be worried about the painters getting something on the floor (which should not happen if they are truly pros). Of course, the flooring contractor may damage the newly painted cabinets, but that would seem to be less likely. And maybe easier to repair.

Please make sure the the paint has completely cured. Cabinet painting is different than wall painting.

I decided to hire kitchen designer because I have difficulty visualizing paint color I like. None of the pictures of kitchen and color looks like mine. I had plan to add a backsplash below and not paint outside. I have slate blue wall for my kitchen/ dining area. At night it turns grey like. At the beginning I wasn't going to paint right away til after the floor but now after all these suggestions including my sibling and website. I will stop find someone. Color courage is difficult to say the least. I have finally decided on a floor color for LVT. Lots of shopping and I picked out a sample and distributor mailed it to me. Luckily on the back of the "board" it showed a pic of a kitchen - and the kitchen cabinets were the same color as my kit cab. So that helped with my color courage. I also googled to my hearts content for rooms with for ideas. Recently I googled flooring stores and they showed lots of pics. But, my hardcase furniture and most of my art are in my new color choices will match my new flooring and cabinets. I would love to be brave and paint my warm tone kitchen cabinets a color but it is not in the budget for this old house right now. Best wishes and ple post some pics along the way.
