On such a project , for the extra few dollars I’d replace the vanity and the tile above it. Start fresh.

Otherwise I’d do a light creamy white color paint.

You were at "full gut" and stopped short. I will ask: what is the planned waterproofing for the shower? as that is far more important than which tile.

You already suffered one bad re do. Start really fresh. No falling apart builder grade vanity, nor an existing tile, nor existing paint, should be driving the remodel bus. Sorry. The drop in sinks are dated, the faucets same, the tile riser not good. Nor the top itself. Do NOT remodel yourself into a bad corner.

Don't attempt every project at once. Do a thing well.....especially a bath. Don't even think about the family room until you make certain of that, or you will end with a whole lot of nothing you love. Or worse? Water damage and leaks.

Take a look at the manufacturers required screw pattern as that is not close. What is the red colored lower backer boards? Why is there poly sheeting over the insulation on the exterior wall?

How close is your toilet to the wall? It looks to close to meet code. There should be a min. 15" from the centerline of the toilet to an adjacent wall.

THis looks to be another mess Stop now and remove the vanity which really is not a good look and there are so many that have better storage you could do Godmorgon from Ikea and have a ton better storage and look.There is no band aid slution it requuires a complete gut and start over .That shower will be the first thing to give you grief down the road I have no idea what the heck is going on there .
