A drywall patch and paint, is hardly impossible. Or? Get Ring or Simpli Safe and do away with it entirely!

I would suggest replacing the bulb in your lighting fixture. It is way too harsh.

I need to see the whole entry and maybe the measurements too. The door swings in so the console needs to clear that nad I think it will be too crowded but I need pics plese Post them here in a comment DO NOT start another post. If that bulb is 5000K it is too harsh IMO 4000K is perfect for lighting. To change the alrm is a tiny hole in the wall you can even cover it with a nice piece of art or the mirror until you are ready to patch

Use painter's tape to make a circle on the wall where you want your round mirror to be.

(To be clear: I'm not suggesting you hide the security pad with tape. If you tape a circle where you are envisioning a round mirror would hang, it will give a better idea of what's possible. )

I don’t think it would fit above my light switch. The wall is about 12’ wide, but 9’ from where the door opens out to.

That’s a lot further down that I thought. I personally wouldn’t want that to work around and would absolutely dig my heels in on moving it. I think your table, etc, would look so much better closer to the door, rather than on the other side of the keypad.

Aimee, the patch is just gonna be a few small holes that you'll patch--not hard (and you did say YOU would patch it, not your husband and someone you hire with your little woman grocery-getter money 🙄).

The patch is easy and you are planning to deal with it yourself (hey--you can even leave the hole behind your new mirror. Anyone that looks behind your mirror deserves to see a hole). The wiring is more challenging so at least call and see what it takes to move it.

The keypad is often located where there is no temptation to stand with the door open turning off the alarm. You want to enter the house completely with the door shut behind you. Keep the pad on the same wall, but move it down the wall to the door.

What kind of system is it? Any reason it is located right over the electrical outlet?

It’s an ADT System. There’s no buttons. Everything works from my phone. It’s wired down the back and somehow that box that’s in the electrical stays there. Doesn’t come out. I told my husband I wanted to move it and he said no.

If you don't interact with it, find decor that goes OVER it.

I have an A/C thermostat in a bad spot in my living room, and just hung art around it.

I’m sure everyone will disagree with me, but I’d put your entry table and mirror on the side closest to the door. Every house I’ve lived in, our front door did not clear our entry table, and it was never a problem at all.

The other side could have art alone, a narrow bench, left bare, etc … just experiment with looks and function.

I don’t know if this would work but how about a round medicine cabinet that can be surface mounted. Cut the back out so you can insert the mirror over top of the ADT panel. It would cover the panel but you would still be able to access it.

A couple simple options:

--Move console table farther into hallway or across the way, which you haven't shown.

OR:

--Floating shelves with mirror and alarm as part of objects on shelves.

You mentioned you bought a console table. How long is it? Can you tape out where it would be if you start it at the doorstop.

I have a mirror hanging over a wall switch and I just reach behind and turn it on. Or move it, then ask for forgiveness.

If you do an arrangement like your inspiration, just have the plant or flowers lean across the panel thing.

Two ways........to DEAD center.

Get a ring top mirror , use a hook that allows the mirror to hang right OVER IT....assuming the darn thing still works from your phone.

Either way? It will be right where you want it

You guys are awesome! Thank you. One thing I find and I love my husband to death, is that he is dead set on things. We have a recliner that I told a mover I would pay him $100 to toss it down the stairs because it is the ugliest thing. My husband will keep things despite them not fitting with what I’m wanting.
