what shape were the flowers?

Grindelia lanceolata. Why cant you confirm and finish up your posts at the time they are identified, instead of waiting months to do it? It makes no sense to me. Im assuming it's Grindelia though the flowers are just yellow blotches, and there is no hint of the intricate involucres.

The way the flowers are shaped is just like G. lanceolata flowers look as they begin to bloom, because of the large involucres.
