jetted tub-scrap or keep?

are jetted tubs always nasty or is there a trick to keep them from getting moldy and filled with algae? From what i see it takes constant deep cleaning and tons of extra water. even if i clean it once wont it constantly get nasty with bacteria even if it doesnt show?

You have to remove the biofilm in the pipes. This stuff works great:

If its really nasty, it might take a couple run-throughs.

Too much work. I got rid of mine and put in a regular soaker tub.

I’ve owned a few places with them (spec homes that builder installed). Agree they are gross. If you’re remodeling, take it out and get a soaker without the jets.
