Photos of bed/floor/nite stand options would be helpful. What are the dominant colors used throughout the rest of the house?

Is there a rug? What color is it? What is the bedding? What color are the walls?

No rug yet. Want to decide on nightstands first. The walls are very light off white with white trim.

Susan, our home has off white walls with white trim throughout, It's my favorite neutral palette to work with and then add color with rugs, etc. The furniture in the rest of our home is light in color and has "cottage vibes".

Thanks for the add’l info…then creamy beige for night stands…unless you absolutely love the blue night stands and want that pop of color. Without seeing the furnishings, generally speaking, cherry furniture (bed) with blue (night stands) seems to be trending in a red/blue direction.

I have the Pulaski Bellisimo bed style in cherry color, what nightstand color will look good with it?

I think this could work nicely with a cherry bed. The light wood tone would soften the darker cherry finish and make the room feel more updated. I’d just repeat the same creamy/light wood tones in the bedding, lamp, or rug so it feels intentional rather than mismatched.

I’m choosing nightstands for a king bed and realizing that the wrong size can make the whole bedroom look off.

Small nightstands save space, but beside a king bed they can look too tiny. Wider ones look more balanced, but they can make the room feel crowded if there isn’t much space on both sides.

The things I’m trying to balance are:

Width beside a king bed

Height compared with the mattress

Drawer storage

Surface space for a lamp and phone

Walking space around the bed

Overall bedroom scale

I feel like the nightstand should be close to the top of the mattress, but width matters too. A very narrow table may be practical, but it doesn’t always look right next to a large bed.

For people with a king bed, what nightstand size worked best for you? Do you care more about width, height, storage, or keeping the room open?
