Looks like you have time to plan. collect rooms with a woodsie theme and show her pictures. see what you both like. green and purple can work together. are you a good painter? a diy-er? do you want wallpaper? does she have a favorie woodland animal? How old is she?

I need a lot more info . To start how old is your daughter? I don't think with a nice woodsy view th room needs anymore woodsy vibe. Kids fave colors change often yearly so I usually do the walls and floor something neutral and have the colors in things easy to change like bedding art on the wall etc. I aslo think kids spaces should have huge input from them it is their space . So info here in a comment DO NOt start another post.

If there has been a discussion about colors, and she wants purple and blue - then that is what it is. it’s her room and you’ve had the discussion. We have no idea how old your daughter is, so it is hard to make specific suggestions. I agree with painting walls neutral overall, and bringing in the colors with bedding, etc; but there are some beautiful light blues that could be stunning as a wall color, with blues and purple shades in bedding, accessories, maybe lighting, etc.

She is 6 years old. When asked she consistently says she would like her room exactly like the one she had at our old house we sold last fall! It was crocus purple by Benjamin Moore with pottery barn daisy garden quilts and purple polka dot curtains. I still have all the bedding but good idea not to paint the walls that color again. She doesn’t love woodland animals or anything like that so maybe like you say I should just consider what she wants …. Which is mainly PURPLE everywhere😊 I also would like to blend the en-suite into the design so again probably all neutrals with a pop of something somewhere with a shower curtain or towel 🤷‍♀️We are planning to list the house after a year or 2 as well so neutrals are probably a great idea

Katie, exactly. Those shades of blue can really almost be considered as a neutral. They are pretty non-offensive to many people - and especially when the color is not used on all the walls in the house.

Btw my husband is hiring drywall out. My brother in law is an awesome painter so he might help some plus my husband is a good painter as well. I want wall paper somewhere I just don’t know exactly where yet !!

With forest views, I’d have wanted expanses of windows! I loved the woods, still do.

As @bapth said, I don't know why the windows aren't larger if you're on a secluded lot backing to woods. It sounds like you could have white walls with the bedding she likes, which would be best for resale. My guess is that if you keep most of her room the same except the wall color it will feel familiar enough to her. Some kids just don't like change very much. By the time you move again she may move on to liking a different color scheme.

You can do alot with paint, stencils, etc.- especially since you plan on selling so soon. A powder room is a great place to have fun. Maybe a removable wallpaper just on one accent wall.

Neutral walls and a peel and stick wallpapered focal wall might be a good solution, fun accessories, and solid bedding could have a longer lifespan. It might be exciting for her to help. Find some ideas on line and see what she thinks.

Pbath I keep telling my husband he covered the best view in the house and he needs to cut out some more windows on that wall but he keeps going with his work ignoring my request ! 🤷‍♀️😆

Growing up, my mother painted and wallpapered my bedroom with what SHE loved. I HATED it. I would allow your daughter to do what she likes with some guidance from you to make sure it's pulled together. If done tastefully, it won't limit your resale. No one is going to say I'm not buying the house because the one room is purple and blue.

Growing up my parents let my sister and I pick our bedroom wall color and my dad painted it. Now that you mention it, it is a fond memory. My sister picked lavender which is still a color she uses a lot in her own home and I picked baby blue which is still my favorite color to decorate with 🤔

LOL. Growing up my daughter decided on black and red. Certainly not colors I'd pick but we managed to make the room with her good sense of design look fabulous. It can be done.

Wow 😯 black and red ! That is fun. My other daughter wants all white walls, bedding rugs ect so that room will have to stay neutral 😂
