I don't think I would flank the window over the tub with sconces. The space isn't quite wide enough for that to look right. You could put them on the end walls of the tub alcove, although I would use a different type than what is usually put next to mirrors over sinks (flatter to the wall). I don't see either of these things done very often, if at all, but that doesn't mean you can't do it. I don't know whether you are thinking about putting a chandelier over the tub or in the center of the room. Where I live, code prohibits hanging light fixtures over tubs. I have put them in the center of both master baths I remodeled in the past. I agree with you, it's a nice look.

This is helpful, thank you for the recommendations! The tub is going away, in lieu of a vanity. And, the wall to the left will be glass (giving more light in the shower). Not sure if this changes your opinion?

I'd also replace those eyeball recessed lights with downward-facing recessed lights (example). Remove the trim to determine what kind of retrofit trim required and to measure the diameter of the housing (aka "can"). You may need to upgrade to an LED-compatible dimmer (e.g., Lutron LED+).

Oh yes! Those eyeballs are definitely going away!

It most likely won't be too many sconces, however, have you considered getting a back lit mirror or one that has lights already on it? Those might be a good solution. See our designs below for the mirrors:
