If at all possible right now I would not want to access a closet through a bathroom ever. As for tile I like stacked it works best in odd spaces and I like the same tile 12 x24 porcelain for bathroom floors and shower walls to keep things simple . To make life simple run the tile in the same direction as the LVP but really IMO it will not be abig issue either direction I do like the shower walls to look like the floor tile just continued up the wall.
