Help with future bathroom remodel

For starters, I will add that this is not going to happen anytime in the next year. I'm taking care of my mother who has a medical condition and so all of my attention is going towards that. However, once we have a better medical outcome, I will place my energy in updating this early '90s peach and green tile bathroom. Some thoughts I had were to rip out the tile and replace it with, I don't know what, obviously repaint the walls, and possibly even rip out the tub and put a large shower instead. Then maybe refinish the cabinets? I would love any ideas for tile shapes and colors that might work well, what color to refinish the cabinets, what color sinks. The toilet is a Kohler toilet and biscuit. It was originally the peach color but I had to replace it and stark white did not look right so biscuit was the next best color available.
Any and all input would be welcomed. I have a friend that can help me with the labor he is an unlicensed contractor but I trust him and he's done really good work on my parents home as well as friends homes. Only thing is he can take longer because he takes other jobs while working so not sure how that would work out but it would save me a lot of money and he's good with tile work.
I would appreciate any input in terms of tiles to choose, color scheme, etc. I want to go for something clean, I cannot stand ultra-modern though. If I went with white tiling then I would probably want to have some color on the walls, or the inverse. I'm having a hard time choosing what color tiles I like. I've seen some mint green tiles that are pretty. I don't know if the tile should all be one color however. Let me know what you think. Picture is in the comments
