Panel/Solid-surface Shower?

We had to take our bathroom down to the studs after finding mold/standing water under our previous tile shower. I wasn't planning on a full bathroom renovation, so I have no idea where to go next. I know I don't want tile again (I hate cleaning, and we have a ton of iron in our water which immediately stains grout).
It seems that almost all the info I can find is dated, and the threads here are old or dead. I've gone to Lowes and Home Depot and spoken with a contractor. Lowes and HD staff seemed clueless to any option other than tile or acrylic inserts. The contractor suggested Wilsonart panels.
My question is, what other plausible options do I have in the mid-budget/average suburban home class? Is it fair to say in order of quality it would be stone panels, tile, solid surface, fiberglass, acrylic? Any photos of your alcove showers that you love? Brands I can research? Any direction to go from here?
