Debra, I like the Blue Over You seedling, great color!

Not to many lavender ones here.

Winifred Esther is a good performer, last season wasnt its best.

Magic Lake is pinkish lavender, the weather never seems to affect this one. reliable but not vigorous.

Flutterbye is reliable , i always get several good clump shots from it.

Coco’s Curiosity is lavender here. Debra, Is yours lavender? seems to like my garden.

Bluegrass Memories, love the color. This daylily does better with afternoon shade here.

Baby Blue Eyes was a bonus plant for me. It is a very good smaller daylily. I dont remember seeing any splotchy blooms on it.

Smurfette suffered last season and its fairly new here. I hope it does better the coming season, the blooms are so nice when the plant is happy.

David and Sherry - Thanks for the comments on Blue Over You X All Things for All Men! I have some others from that cross that should bloom this year.

Sherry - Your Winifred Esther always catches my eye with its bluesy colors. Yes, Coco's Curiosity is a lavender here, but in hotter temps it's a rosy lavender. Your picture of it with the bluer tones is very pretty! Could you post that one to the NGA database?

Coco's Curiosity had an off year here last year. It was very short and didn't have many buds. Also with the cooler temps, it did show as much of an edge as in past years.

David - I think Limelight and Lavender was the one you acquired for me. It's such a pretty shade of lavender. Mine has never bloomed. It hasn't been vigorous here and with its small fans it has repeatedly accidentally been mowed down. Carolina Cool Down looks pretty in your garden. I didn't get a photo of mine this year.

Irene Bally (new to my garden, hybridized by a friend in Ohio, Deryll Keatting).....very large blooms and a terrific bud count, vigorous and very pod fertile)....

It can be a purple when it's chilly out like the photos I'm showing but most often is lavender in the heat.

Nan - Thanks so much for the nice seedling comment! Best for Last is more of lavender here too, although it's registered as matte pink. Mine used to have wonderful bud counts and multiplied fast, but now its in too much shade to do well.

Celeste - You have so many dreamy lavenders. How did you ever talk Deryll out of Irene Bally? I offered to buy it twice from him, but he never responded. I think it's very pretty. You have some wonderful lavender seedlings. My favorites are Gone to Glory X Awaken the Dawn with that marvelous edge and Sky Over Schuyler for its fantastic color.

My climate means we mostly get mauve pink shades, which I do like but it's just not lavender. I have to stop myself when I see others pictures and remember that. Still I do appreciate lavender in others gardens. My appreciation for the color all started with Debra's English Lavender (do you still have it?), and goes to so many others posted now such as Orchid Linen (you know that edge gets me) and Age of Aquarius (looks a little mauve to me but pretty).......Sherry: Coco's Curiosity looks so pretty for you.....Celeste: You are the queen of purple and lavender with your climate. So many pretty ones. That's a great picture of Orchid Corsage, and a couple of your seedlings have turned out really well with the one out of Gone to Glory having the form I like the most...........I'm thinking some of Brad's seedlings may qualify for this catagory too when he posts. Spiritual Corridor did nothing this year. The Coco's Curiosity and Untamed Heart seedlings look interesting. As much bud count as the parents? Magic Amethyst tended to be splotchy in the spot I had it, right next to Born to Reign, which was exasperatingly splotchy. However, when I move things to the estate garden, which has more sun and a higher elevation (even though just a few blocks away), there is much less splotchiness with many cultivars.

Jewel of the Oasis is a sparkling color. Carolina Cool Down was a shadow of last year's performance, but still good. It's a big plant, but I trim leaves in consideration of neighbors.

Viagra Falls had a good year. Because of, or in spite of, the winter/spring? A good question for any of those that had a good year. Like many lavenders, it does not like hot mid-day sun and loses the impact of the bluish eye in more sun.

Emmerich's Character Witness turned out to be an interesting color.

An older Moldovan, Pewter Lake, shone again as a neighboring bush was affected by the winter.

Marian Cavanaugh attracts attention in the garden, but does not have the ideal plant habit that Curt strives for.

Echo Beach performed well. A good grower and a favorite.

Not a good year for Alan Watts

I will allow myself a glamour shot of Sword of Justice. It had a decent year. Seldom splotchy. I got this when Debra pictured time after time, but haven't seen her show it recently.

Emmerich's Kingdom Bound is superb, though subpar in a bad year.

Rice's Abraham Lincoln had a terrible year, but I got a good shot of the coloring, which can be difficult to capture. (Generally, lavenders are not popular.)

Ring the Bells of Heaven can be lovely. The first two years, it had many splotchy blooms; then for some reason, spots were much diminished.

Captain Freckles (Davisson).

Hanson's Logically Implied. Not as many buds in this off year.

Munson's Silver Ice.

Edge of Irrelevance looks promising.

Royal Girls --doesn't like hot sun (like many purples). Have to capture early to get the unique lavender color.

Mantis - It looks like your lavenders are showing up multiple times now. _iagra Falls looks to have a lot of buds! Marian Cavanaugh has such a pretty face! Is it low on branching an bud count for you? I also find Echo Beach and Royal Girls captivating. As for seedlings you asked about, this is the first year for the Untamed Heart seedling to bloom. Both it and its parent only had 7-8 buds in this bad year. The Coco's Curiosity kid has never shown as many buds as its mother, but it is a reliable rebloomer. I think it got hit by grubs last year, but I'm not sure. Sword of Justice did not bloom here this year.

I saw a clump of Marian Cavanaugh when it was just a seedling. It did have a lot of buds, but branching was more crowded than an ideal scape. I didn't know if it would be introduced. My plant is still young.

I'm back from vacation. I will pick up with this and go back to what I missed in the future. Lavenders are probably tied with purple as my favorite and this thread is amazing! Some of my favorites: Debra, Orchid Line, Age of Aquarious, Cocoa's Curiosity x $exy Samantha.
