Is the planter unirrigated? If so, try clivia minata, aka Kaffir lily, among other things. It will do dry shade and has orange or yellow blooms. It flowers well pot-bound.

Clivia don't need much water; I am coastal LA and don't water mine, and they survive on fog and roof drip for the most part. How frequently do you irrigate, and is that adjustable?

its is a pot.. when is the last time the media was changed out??

media is a water management system.. and it eventually wears out.. and then fails.. and when it does.. that is what happened the the previous plants that no longer thrive ...

so replace it with a quality media.. never forget.. the most important thing in a pot.. is the media.. NEVER the plants...
