The rug is beautiful, but it disappears on your floor. I’d look for a rug you love that offers more contrast and more color so that you can pull accent colors from it. Plug-in wall sconces would be a nice way to get light at the couch since you don’t have room for end tables. There are paintable cord covers so that the cords are less noticeable. You can place gallery art to work around your wall vent. I’d paint the vent to match the wall.

Post a picture of the entire room. What else is in the room? Are you sure the sectional is in the best location? It is too large for that wall. You cannot fit a table at either end for ambient lighting. Relying on ceiling lights is not the best option. It also should not be against the wall with baseboard. The rug should ge the other way to be wider than the sectional. Can't give advise on colors to add because we have no idea what you like.

we have the same type of problem with our sectional space and the same type of ottoman. Someone suggested a more round and open coffee table.

I am bringing gold into the room as an accent. I ordered a rectangle white table with gold legs farmhouse style. Going to add three watercolors with gold frames on the wall. The rug is the big question mark. Last piece of the puzzle.

Heather. Start from the fact that with this furniture you have a space that looks very squished. So I would bring features in that “visually” trick the eye to make it “feel” wider and more spacious. My mock up is intended as “concepts” and you can choose objects you like best. First I selected a Diamond pattern rug in neutral shades to expand feel of space. Next put a gallery of art and set it up to be on both sides of sofa. Select items with black frames and largely black and white content. Could be black and white photos. Arrange so that white cover on wall above sofa is minimized. Paint that your wall color would be helpful too. You said you have ordered rectangular coffee table but a round shape would work better given size and shape of the sofa and ottoman. Last get an arc lamp that has flat base that slides under furniture to create light and more expansive feeling on right side of space.

The sofa is not a sectional and with the t v on the opposite wall we can not see in your photo, why not put the sofa on the long wall to face t v?

Try using the rug you have and the ottoman as a coffee table.

As mentioned by others, I would use the ottoman as the coffee table and place a brass tray and other accessories on the ottoman. This gives the room a larger feel, not everything squished in the corner.. I also suggest plug-in brass sconces for lighting, a narrow side table in black, and a jute ottoman for either use as an ottoman or extra seating when needed. A vintage area rug would bring colour into the room and I suggest you bring it partly under your sofa. Place a few accent pillows and a throw on the sofa with colours from your area rug.
