I'd switch out your front door for a MCM style, brightly colored door. I'd add house numbers in Neutra font and if you've got a porch light fixture not seen in the photo, I'd continue the MCM theme with that light fixture as well. The hedge of bushes is a little plain and one note, so check the sites above for some landscaping ideas suitable to your area with differing plant heights.

The white trim is fine and period appropriate, the paint color is a bit meh.

A modern version of a period correct MCM front door would go a long way. Also, it looks like you used to have a car port that was enclosed. The tall skinny window style they put in is not appropriate to the architectural style and looks badly at-odds with the other windows on the front of the house. Matching those two windows better would also help a lot but is of course a somewhat pricey endeavour.

Some option to go with white trim and dark body.

Even if you don't decide to change the windows on what used to be a carport or garage, if you remove about six feet of paving from in front of that part of the house and landscape it, it will look less like it used to be something else. People don't usually have pavers going all the way up to the house except to the front door. I agree with the other commenters that a different front door is in order. Since you're in FL you could also have a much more vibrant and interesting exterior color as well. The pictures below are only to suggest door styles. I think something other than dark gray would be better for the exterior where you are. What do other houses in your neighborhood look like?

1960s palettes were bright or earthy. I'd consider turquoise, which can be anywhere from light or grayed to bright. Peachy colors are pretty, too.

Or Olive. In either case, get a colorful door.

Your landscaping is really boring and in Florida, you have so many options. I would not do planters and have, as @Patricia Colwell suggests, a landscape focused on planters, rather than plants.

I’m with you @acm. I would choose the 4th photo I posted - something in a bright, but not neon, turquoise-y blue.

If I was feeling serious, I would vote for olive green paint/orange door. But Florida requires lighter, happier colors.

I live in South Florida and dark colors are not used on homes ever.

This house needs a good landscaper who can design for you. I agree that some of the pavers should be pulled up and plantings should be put there.
